There’s little surprise that this wedding day is lovely! Jenn is a graphic designer and clearly thought of so many incredible details to make their intimate wedding feel totally relaxed + pretty at the Palmer House in Solon, Iowa photographed by Stephanie Marie Photography.
Aaron + Jenn met through mutual friends at Iowa State University their junior year. They were great friends prior to dating. During a quiet morning in Galena, Illinois they walked the paths of the Eagle Ridge Resort. He surprised her afterward with a spa trip to have her nails done with a friend, and on their way to lunch he popped the question at a nearby waterfall.
They wanted a modern rustic wedding with light + airy details. Blush bridesmaid details, a navy suit for Aaron, and lots + lots of greenery helped pull the whole vision together. They shared an exciting + tearful first look which allowed plenty of time for portraits. The couple explained that it was especially nice to have just a little bit of time together alone prior to the guests’ arrival. They finished the day with BBQ chicken and dancing.
Jenn’s bridal advice to future couples is to just enjoy it. NO matter what happens beforehand, you’re marrying the love of your life. She also kept a journal/wedding book throughout which has turned into a mini scrapbook for their day. She used hers for inspiration, collages, notes from vendors, etc.
We love the Palmer House’s older charms, but especially love this wedding day’s tree planting unity ceremony, how the couple took care of guests with sunscreen + bug spray on hand, the neutral rustic feel with beautiful pops of pink + blush tones, and especially the way these two look at one another. We’re excited to share this wedding with you today! Enjoy!
